The U.S. Conference of Mayors Announces Mayors' Task Force on Aging

 Pembroke Pines (FL) Mayor Frank Ortis to Serve as Chair

WASHINGTON, Oct. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- During The United States Conference of Mayors 2015 Fall Leadership Meeting, Conference President and Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake announced the formation of The Conference of Mayors Task Force on Aging and appointed Pembroke Pines (FL) Mayor Frank Ortis to serve as Chair.  

Mayor Ortis brings considerable leadership and focus on these issues as cities work to create 'age friendly' environments for our nation's older Americans.

As the Chair of the Task Force, Mayor Ortis joins the USCM leadership and will participate in helping to shape the policy agenda and direction of the organization over the next year.

USCM CEO and Executive Director Tom Cochran said, "We welcome Mayor Ortis as Chair of the Mayors Aging Task Force.  He is a leader on this issue in his city and will bring that leadership to the nations mayors as they work to develop a comprehensive strategy to help cities provide greater supports to our aging population.
